A representative of DefenSea Consultoria attended Euronaval 2014, in Paris – France, that was held in October 27 to 31, 2014. During the event, we have the opportunity to visit the booths of the major naval defense companies, in order to get a first hand view of the new trends in the sector. Additionally, we have meetings with the foreign companies represented in Brazil by DefenSea Consultoria, such as HGH Infrared Systems (producers of IR panoramic surveillance cameras) and RTSys (specialized in the design and production of underwater acoustic targets and systems).
Special emphasis should be made to the visit of the Commandant of the Brazilian Navy, Admiral Julio Soares de Moura Neto to the RTSys’ booth. Admiral Moura Neto was accompanied by the General-Director of Material, Admiral Luiz Guilherme Sá de Gusmão and the Director of Weapon Systems, Vice-Admiral Alípio Jorge Rodrigues da Silva. During the visit, RTSys presented a proposal to modernize the Inhaúma Class Corvettes ATLAS DSQS-21 sonar, employing the AS3I system (Analog Surface Ship Sonar Improvement). At the end of the presentation, the Brazilian Navy Commandant requested that a team of RTSys travel to Brazil to gather the data needed to prepare a technical proposal aiming to up-grade a Corvette’s sonar.
